How to Review IELTS Reading Mistakes So You Improve
Checking an answer key tells you what was wrong. A useful review tells you why it was wrong and what to change in the next set.

Sort errors by cause
Group mistakes into categories such as paraphrase, inference, locating evidence, instructions, spelling, or running out of time. One missed question can belong to more than one category, but choose the main cause.
Patterns appear quickly when you review several sets in the same format.
Return to the evidence
Find the exact section that supports the correct answer. Then compare it with the wording that led you to your choice. This makes paraphrase and qualification easier to recognise next time.
Do not only read the explanation. Explain the evidence aloud in your own words before you move on.
Build the next practice set around one weakness
If matching headings caused most of the trouble, practise that question type with a timer rather than taking another random set immediately. When the weak point improves, return to mixed practice.
A short note after every review can track the skill, the mistake, and one action for the next attempt.
