IELTS Writing practice questions.
Does IELTSpeak support both Academic and General Training Writing?
Yes. You can practise Academic Task 1 data reports (charts, graphs, tables), General Training Task 1 letters (formal, semi-formal, informal), and Task 2 essays.
Why are writing sessions 15-minute sprints?
Focused 15-minute sprints let you train high-leverage sections — such as a complete Task 1 report or a Task 2 thesis and PEEL body block — under real time pressure, then immediately review and rewrite while your reasoning is fresh.
How is my writing scored?
Each submission is evaluated against the four official IELTS Writing criteria: Task Achievement / Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy, with one primary limiting factor identified for your rewrite.
Do writing sprints use up my speaking mock credits?
No. Writing sprints and writing gym drills never use speaking mock credits. Active passes include unlimited Writing sprints alongside your mock credits.
